The Lord has important ways of healing our wounds and renewing our hope. There are two things that have contributed in a most wonderful way, the first of which is the birth of our great-granddaughter, Julie's granddaughter, Cora, born this November 27. She is a tiny gift from God, not only to her parents, John David and Mindy, but to us as well. She reminds us of how precious life is and the grace of God in giving us offspring. I am also reminded of God's promises of a resurrection, when Christ will return and raise the dead in Christ to new life. My soul! God does not leave us comfortless but opens the windows of heaven with blessings too great for us to receive. Little Cora is just such a gift.
The second thing is a new book I am writing about the process of grieving which should be completed early next year. It has torn at my heart, but I am hoping the book will help someone who is dealing with grief, a subject we often shun.
This is truly the season to focus on Christ, God's greatest gift. How good the Lord is to love us and renew us day by day.
