I know, I am an old man and out-of-touch. Yes, thank God! I drive an old truck, my cell phone flips open and my home phone plugs in. The only reason I have a, what do you call it "thin screen" computer, is because the old tube type blew out. At least my TV is not black and white. I don't watch it much anyway. Programming has become too crude; even Duck Dynasty gets into gray areas. So, I stick with PBS, the Travel Channel, National Geographic, and RFD and, of course, whatever channel is showing the Andy Griffith Show.
I just don't understand same sex marriage, radical religions or the lust for war. I don't even understand why people drive so fast. The only thing the police can find to give me a ticket for is faulty lights on a trailer. That pretty much puts me in the irrelevant category, way out. Today, straight is strange and observant is odd. God's law? What is that? Heaven is where we all go after spitting in God's face.
Do you ever feel like you don't fit anymore? I do. What little voice I have is now generally disrespected. The world has become so unfriendly and unrestrained that I don't recognize it. Senseless prattle is more to be desired than thoughtful conversation. The pulpit has become a place of amusement instead of a shepherd feeding his flock. Preachers reach for celebrity status instead of servant status.
God has an order for everything He created, but when the creation becomes totally out-of-order it becomes self-destructive. That is where we are. Slowly, surely, this world is self-destructing. Our only hope is for the coming of the Lord. We can only hope that our life has not been in vain, making a difference to someone and pray for the coming of Christ.
Revelation 22:20 "Surely, I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus."
